Ladera Ranch

Covering just over 4,000 acres of land, Ladera Ranch is known for its scenic views and soothing temperatures. It is also recognized as one of the nations most coveted planned communities.

Ladera Ranch sits just east of Mission Viejo and offers a variety of features that help it differentiate itself from other Southern California planned communities. Southern California, infamously known for its bad traffic, could learn a thing or two from this master-planned community. Ladera Ranch employs several traffic calming features that include a number of roundabouts, narrow streets, and chokers which help keep the traffic flowing.

Ladera Ranch is composed of two types of housing areas: Villages and neighborhoods. Neighborhoods are created by individual builders. Each village is made up of ten or more neighborhoods, and there are nine villages within Ladera Ranch. Parks, playgrounds, and pools are all featured in each village. It should be noted that five of the nine villages have clubhouses that each have unique architectural themes.

Ladera Ranch is served by the Capistrano Unified School District. Citizens of Ladera Ranch are treated to a branch of the Orange County Public Library as well. Shopping is available within Ladera Ranch at four different locations. Bridgepark Plaza, Mercantile West, Mercantile East, and Terrace Shops are all shopping centers within Ladera Ranch limits. There is a wide array of restaurants within the area, ranging from fast food to more upscale and stylish restaurants.
