Corona del Mar

Slightly south of Newport Beach, and just to the north of Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar is one of the most beautiful cities in Orange County. Plainly translated as “crown of the sea,” Corona Del Mar is home to slightly over 83,000 residents.

The Corona del Mar State Beach, Pirates Cove, and China Cove is a spectacular place to explore and hunt for seashells. This outdoor spectacle is idea for families, who are able to view the yachts traveling in and out of Newport Harbor. You may also surf, dive, fish, snorkel, and barbeque on the beach.

The Sherman Library and Gardens, located right on Pacific Coast Highway, offers a relaxing getaway retreat. This cultural center offers several different botanical gardens with brick pathways that lead you through planned English gardens.

Rogers Gardens, located on San Joaquin Hills Road, is one of the biggest and gorgeous nurseries in all of Southern California. Roger’s is open to the public and allows people to walk through their many gardens and purchase items at their gift shop.

The Five Crowns restaurant is a famous Orange County restaurant that has seemingly been open forever. The restaurant offers a warm, first class atmosphere with dining on two stories. The Five Crowns is rather expensive, but great food and excellent service are guaranteed.

There are two schools in the area, with several others to choose from in surrounding cities. Real estate prices can range from $749,000 to $75 million. Corona Del Mar is suitable for retirees, young families and couples.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Corona Del Mar would have to be the location. It lacks the rustle and bustle like neighboring cities Newport and Laguna, yet it still offers beautiful views of rock formations and several coves that weave in and around the Southern Pacific.
